LESSON 22
Relationships-Authentic Exploration

Relationships-Authentic Exploration

When I was a child, I did childish things, when I became a man I put away childish things. 1 Corinthians 12:11

Why is it significant to value the impact of relationships – authentic exploration? When you are willing to explore and go deep to look at thought patterns, and generational patterns, you can then acknowledge experiences in such a way that invites you to be open, honest, humble, and personally responsible. Does God hold you responsible for something that someone else did? Rest assured, God does not hold you responsible for something that someone else did. Let us look at what God‘s word says. According to Romans chapter 5 through 7, the Apostle Paul argues that from a certain point of view, human sin and death are a greater issue rather than an individual one. Each one of us remains a slave of sin, unless we are set free by the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.

Relationships. – authentic exploration means you were willing to investigate your thoughts and generational patterns. Having a successful faith life is going to start with you learning to accept and love yourself. God does not want you going through your life filled with disappointment, disdain or insecurities about ourselves. God has created us perfectly and in His image which is love.

How do  you benefit from relationships – authentic exploration? You benefit by taking responsibility for oneself. We start as infants with no personal responsibility whatsoever, everything that we need is provided. As we progress through life, we take on more and more responsibility. We learn to tie our shoes, clean our rooms, and turn in our homework, etc. What if you or your family have patterns of addiction and abuse? Just like physical characteristics of height, weight, hair, color, and complexion, in the same way certain types of sin can pass from generation to generation. We learn early on that responsibility has its rewards and irresponsibility has its consequences.

You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself.- Jim Rohn
